I have extensively used Google docs and it seems to be a great alternative to using Microsoft Office Suite however I certainly won't give up Office. Google docs is good because like a wiki multiple people can edit a doc. The downside is that you have to have google account which most of my students do not since yahoo was on the scene first with searching and email. At the beginning of the coming year I will require all my students to create a google account and a myspace account so we can utilize different forms of communication online.
